Is there any english manual on how to root the M4.5 firmware 2.0.0?
    I tried KingoRoot already.

  • Thanx for the quick reply. I will try as soon as I can
  • - if you omit the last step (reflash lk.bin from FW2.0, leaving the one from FW1.4) TWRP will work but not the compass
    - if you reflash lk.bin from FW2.0, compass will work but not TWRP!

I'd like to know a method with TWRP and compass!!
  • Recently I bought M4.5 on ebay, it's running Android 5.1 (FW1.4)
I couldn't force flashtools to work but I managed to root the phone using fastboot.

    1. enable developer options.
    2. enable oem unlock (in developer options)
    3. fastboot oem unlock
    4. fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
    5. fastboot reboot

    6. After that phone got into boot loop: entering twrp, printing lot of errors, and restarting.
Somehow I forced it to shutdown by holding power button, then I started phone again and this time it booted successfully to TWRP. I tapped reboot. I was asked 'install SuperSu'? I confirmed. Then:

    6. fastboot flash recovery stock_recovery.img
    7. fastboot oem lock
    8. fastboot reboot
    9. wait (phone is doing factory reset)
    10. update SuperSu via Play Store.

BTW, I noticed that compass doesn't work in Google Maps but works in Sygic and Here WeGo
    (before and after rooting)
